Hi, Today I Got Surgery To Remove My Ingrown Toenail

hi, today i got surgery to remove my ingrown toenail and the doctor advised that i keep it wrapped with the same bandage for 24 hours but i feel like the toe is pretty swollen and it's throbbing. I have it elevated and i am icing it and i'm going to take some painkillers momentarily, but is there anything else i can do? should i unwrap the bandage and rewrap it looser?
