I Am Asking This Question For My Wife. She Is

i am asking this question for my wife. she is 45 years old. she is a year out from cancre treatment whichh has left her with a traumatic brain injury from the chemo. she has been baker acted and has been asked to start taking trileptal. she was hospitalized for 10 days during chemo for renal failure. is this drug safe for her to take or should we ask for something different?
