Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i am having paon in the upper right quadrant of the abdomen in the area right around and below the rib area. My doctor thought he palpated a mass or something there and i had a ct scan this morning which showed nothing and everything was remarkable. his nurse called me and told me i had diverticulosis/diverticulitis and wanted to order me antibiotics for this. this is not a new diagnosis and i am not having the pain in the lower left abdomen that i usually get with a flareup, i feel we are missing something with this pain on the upper right area. Is this possible that a ct scan can miss what the problem is in that area? the ct scan showed that i have a fatty liver, absecent gallbladder and the pancrease, kidneys, ureters etc are all fine.
