I Am Taking Diphenoxylate Prescribed By My Diabetes Md. I

i am taking diphenoxylate prescribed by my diabetes md. i had rectal tumor removed in Aug., since then i have no control of my bowels. no solid stool and watery. had another scope done last week and dr. said, " inflammation at the reconnect" should i still be taking this med?
