I Have A Disk Sitting On A Nerve Which Is

i have a disk sitting on a nerve which is causing me to hardly be able to walk, allot of muscle spams, swollen feet, and ankle pain, syactic pain, how long can this go on without surgery? i have rhuematoid arth, fibro, copd, high blood pressure, on vicodin, prednisone and blood pressure meds
