I Have A Dog Who Is Being Treated With Cytarabine

i have a dog who is being treated with cytarabine injections for meningitas. is there any other treatment besides that? the vet said he would have to have them the restof his life. he goes in every three weeks and gets two injections a day for two days in a row.
