I Have A Hurting Pain That Is From My Elbow

i have a hurting pain that is from my elbow to my shoulder on the left arm and goes across into the middle of my chrest and all the way through to my back? some times that pain is so servere that i can't raise my arm? any help that i can get will be appreciated? thanks
