I Have An Abscess Inside Of My Ear. It Is

i have an abscess inside of my ear. it is not in my ear canal, i can feel it and it is very swollen. today i went to the doctor and she said nothing about draining it, and prescribed me levaquin. the pain is absolutely excruciating. it is hard for me to chew, speak, or yawn. a motrin makes it only barely tolerable. its more of a pulsating pain and pressure more than anything. my ears are small, so its a little complicated for me to hear. it reminds me of when you're in the shower or pool and have water clogging your ear, so everything sounds muffled. do you think the antibiotics will help, or maybe even an ointment? im terrified of needles, so draining it would definitely be a last resort. my throat is scratchy as well, but i do not think it is related to the abscess. thank you for your time.
