I Have Had 8 Months Of Bleeding While On The

i have had 8 months of bleeding while on the depo shot therefore my gp put me onto the combination pill to stop the bleeding while been on the depo shot. i am instructed to take the pill everyday with no break. by taking both is the birth control still as effective?
