I Have Had Stabbing Pains In Right Temple For 5

i have had stabbing pains in right temple for 5 weeks,sometimes more prolonged headache and also a crunching clicking sound in my neck when I put my head forwards and to each side,my neck muscles at the base of my head seem sore also,have been given gamapentin that has helped but don't really like the side effect of being spaced out?any ideas thank you
