I Have Slight Dizziness. When I Walk I Feel Like

i have slight dizziness. when i walk i feel like i am unstable and have to hold on to something to prevent me from falling. i have not fallen so far nor is the problem severe. but i wish to know the reason and if possible nip it in the bud. my doc suggests vertin 8 mg. is this ok?
