I Just Took A Bite Of An Apple And It

i just took a bite of an apple and it appears as though there was a worm in the bite that i took. what remains is a brownish hold where i bit into the apple. there was no visible damage to the outside of the apple, but, apparently i ate whatever it was be it a rotten spot or a worm or who knows what. there was no foul taste...what do i need to know if i ate something that was alive at some point or was alive?
