I Know Someone Who Has A 3 Year Old Son

i know someone who has a 3 year old son and he has always had problems pooping since he was a baby. She had him on some over the counter meds to loosen his stool until the dr told her to take him off of it or he would get to where he would be depend on it. She did, he was about 2 years old. He will be 4 years old in April.. I just found out a couple months ago that he can't poop she has to dig it out of him.. I have been bugging her and bugging her about getting him in to the dr and she just won't do it! I'm to the point i am so angry with her! If she continuous to not gets this taken care of what can happen? I told her the dr can do something for him. I don't know what but they can and will. I might be something as simple as working his sphincter muscle.. Could the longer she wait to get him into see the dr cause him to have a bag to poop in for the rest of his life?
