I Recently Had An Abdominal Hysterectomy D/t Fibroid Cyst That

i recently had an abdominal hysterectomy d/t fibroid cyst that were growing. Pathology report was clear. Since this surgery by bowel has not been normal. I pass mostly gas and stool softeners doesn't help. Laxatives will work but I don't like using them. There is bright red blood in the stool and when gas is really bad. is this related to the surgery or is it a bowel issue? I plan to discuss with my surgeon and request a colonoscopy to be sure.
