I Was Cleaning My Ear With A Cotton Bud And

i was cleaning my ear with a cotton bud and went to deep and hurt my ear which then got inflamed and i also got vertigo getting up to quick,turning over in bed from one side to another, getting up to quick,looking up or down. my GP gave me and antibiotic which cleared it up....but every now and then i get this vertigo close on 2 years now....what exactly did happen in my ear to cause the vertigo
