I Was Diagnosed With A Pinched Nerve In My Neck

i was diagnosed with a pinched nerve in my neck 4 yrs ago, original symptoms numbing on index, middle finger and thumb, excruciating pain forearm right arm, mid back. prescribed steroids, helped pain some what. 2 flare ups since then, prescribed steroids, helped with pain in arm and back, Had 2 appointments with neurosurgeon, says I'm too young for surgery( 50s), Insurance wont pay for an MRI. Got an MRI for free from a clinic I work at as an electrician, they were training techs, that's what the neurosurgeon used to diagnose pinched nerve C6 C7. Had the flu a few days ago, spent 3 days in bed, flu is better, but now I have burning neck, increased numbness, guessing I aggravated it, dont know that for sure but I would get a burning neck after sitting in a car too long. I dont know if I should waist my time on another visit to that same doctor.
