I Was Diagnosed With Hsv1 Last Year. Never Had A

i was diagnosed with hsv1 last year. Never had a cold sore before. I believe I have one now. Im freaking out and feel like my life is over. Im reading nothing but conflicting things online. Im reading that 90 percent of the population has this by age 80. But why then such a stigma? My question is do I have to tell someone before kissing them I have hsv1? Thank you
