I Woke Up With A Severe Pain In The Palm

i woke up with a severe pain in the palm of my hand. Its very very sore, painful, and tender to the touch. I have no Idea where this pain is coming from. The pain is coming from the left side palm bottom of the palm. I have not hit it, fell, or injured it in any way. Even holding a pen in my hand trying to write is very painful. There is no other pain in the hand, or fingers.
