If My Period Blood Is Brown Is There Something I

if my period blood is brown is there something i need to do to make it be normal or do i just wait it out and hope it doesn't reoccur? and also what do u recommend for someone whose period lasts longer then usual. my period used to be a normal length of about five days or so and its gradually been lasting longer. since the last few months its been about eight days long. i'm currently on it and today makes 9 days , and brown.
