ihave been doing some research of my symptons, After a 3 month hospitalization beginning in December for pneumonia, where I was intubated given atracheostomy and put in coma. including 1 month in rehabilitation hospital, I was released with neuro logicalnerve paralysis of left hand or wrist drop, paralysis at right shoulder and paralyzed diaphragm, I took ivig treatments after hospital release I should have continued but at the time I did not feel they were doing any good. I went back to my neurologist who referred me to MAYO CLINIC in Jacksonville. they recommended tendon transfer surgrery for left hand and said my paralasis may resolve it self in another year. I had that surgery, but do not feel it was veerry successful, my neurothopy of hands arms legs and feet is much worse, I am taking gaberdene for that . I read about Guillain-Barre' syndrome and Acute inflamator Demyelinating Polyneuropathy , my symptoms closely resemble those of both of these conditions, I live in Western Ky, my neurologist is in Nashville Tn. but I have made an appointment with neuro in Clarksville Tn. this appointment is in March iplan to speak with her about these conditions. I would like to know more about plasmapheresis what it is what are the side effects? I am diabetic, have high blood pressure and COPD.
