Ihave Come Down Eith Extreme Pain In My Right Knee

ihave come down eith extreme pain in my right knee and somewhat also in my right shoulder. it was soreish this morning and now i cannot bend the knee. i have just finishes a course of steroids. can that be the cause and whaat should i do short of going to the emergency room?
