Im 62 And Was Diagnosed With Acute Mastitis 6 Days

im 62 and was diagnosed with acute mastitis 6 days ago. never had it before. dr prescribed cephlax(sp?). pain and burning, 2 sores have opened up letting infection ooze out. pain is still really bad enough that i just carry my breast in hand any time i need to walk or move. called dr today to see if this is normal. didnt get a call back but found out thru my pharmacy that she called out new meds. im icing my breast but concerned abt pain lasting this long. tylenol and ibiprofin dont work on me. how long does it take for meds to work and pain to go away? should i insist on being being seen again?
