Is It Possible For PAD To Effect The Heart As

is it possible for PAD to effect the heart as well? my husband, age 67, has fatigue and shortness of breath, and does have an appt with the surgeon (Fem bypass) to rule out additional pad blockages. Husbands older brother had stents for heart, and maybe this is athleroscleurosis? need tests? Appt is already made for GP too.
