is the DEA making Pain management Dr.s stop prescribing hydrocodone and Oxycontin , I have been seeing the same Dr. for 16 yrs. and last mo. his PA came in and ask how I was doing like always and then told me they had to take me off the Oxycontin because of the DEA's new laws anyway I had to go off of it once before because I am on SSI Disability and the medicare part D plan I had took it off of their formulary list so they switched me to Opana 40 mg and 20 mg anyway I also take 10 mg of hydrocodone for break thru pain , so a couple of days ago I opened the big Fed Ex envelope it came in and noticed there wasn't any hydrocodone in it ,I have to get his Opana at a pharmacy in Houston because the town I live has none that will carry it because of how exspensive it is, so I called the Dr.s office and told the nurse and she said she would check on it , so she calls me back and said that since they changed my meds from Oxycontin to Opana I wasn't going to be able to get the hydrocodone anymore but the day I was there the PA Did NOT Say anything about not getting the hydrocodone anymore ,plus the 1st time I was changed to Opana she told me it was a weaker medication , I have had 2 major surgeries on 2 levels of my neck and 1 on 5 layers of my lower back and now need my lower back fused and 2 more levels of my neck fused but my cardiologist says i can't have either surgeries or anymore nerve blocks or epidural injections
