I've Noticed Swelling On My Top Lip, In The Middle,

i've noticed swelling on my top lip, in the middle, but only on the rim of my lip. i've cleaned it everyday but it still hasn't gnu away in about a week. i've talked to one doctor who says it's just a cold sore that will go away
but it's still here. i've tried abreva but still won't go. my question is, what should i do, it isn't like a blister that turns red when it bursts, its like a germ thats on the inside, that needs to come out. what again should i do?
