Lately I've Noticed I Haven't Had As Much Bowel Movement

lately I've noticed I haven't had as much bowel movement as usual, not totally constipated but definitely not going as much as I should be. This has been going on for about a week and then today when I went to the toilet I noticed a long, white kind of yellow stringy bit in my stool, what is going on and what can I do about it!!
