My 13 Yr Old Black Lab Will Not Come Up

my 13 yr old black lab will not come up the stairs to our deck. He is capable but most times we need to chase he up the stairs. it is the only way in and out of the house for him. I just can't keep chasing him all over the yard for 20 minutes trying to get him back in the house.
