My 14 Year Old Miniature Dachshund Has Cushings Disease (diagnosed

my 14 year old miniature dachshund has cushings disease (diagnosed in Jan 2016). he can barely walk since he has short legs and is pot bellied. he is already losing his hair and all he wants to do is eat, drink water and sleep. when he goes outside, he does his "thing" and barks because he wants to come back inside. I am thinking of putting him to sleep. he doesn't look happy and I'm sad to see him this way. Is putting him to sleep a humane thing to do now?
