My 18 Month Old Grandson Has Developed A Rash That

my 18 month old grandson has developed a rash that started out as little tiny red spots but quickly spread to large red blotches in the space of an hour and now seem to be fading slightly but are still very visable. they do not seem to bother him but they worry me any thoughts?
