My 2 Year Kid Fell On A Soft Bed, However

my 2 year kid fell on a soft bed, however his hand looks like squeezed between his body and the hard wall. he says it's paining and not using that hand and not allowing us to touch it hard as well. we visited doctor and x-ray confirmed that everything is normal. doctor suggested that we use "ibugesic" for 2 days as there might be swelling with soft tissues. is there anything else we can do to have a speedy recovery?
note: he don't have anything else like fever, cough or cold as of now.
