My 38 Year Old Son Has Been Picking Fiddle Heads

my 38 year old son has been picking fiddle heads for two weeks ,every day for 8 to 10 hours ,could he get iron poisoning from the plants ? he didnt eat any ,just picked about 100 pounds a day ,,he is vomiting what looks like coffee grounds ..Thank you .
