My Son Came Down With A Fever And Body Aches

my Son came down with a fever and body aches yesterday. He was running close to 102 temp that spiked to 103.6 last night and had a bad headache. it's hovering around 100-101 today and he's developed a sore throat. I don't see the white bumps that are a telltale sign of strep. In your opinion should we go to get a strep test or do we need to wait out a virus?
