My Adams Apple Has Slowly Been Moving To The Left

my adams apple has slowly been moving to the left and is now located under one of the two ligaments which are normally located on both sides of the adams apple. Sometime now when I swallow it feels sore and a bit like a lump. can you explain this. thanks
