My Aunt Has Been Diagnosed With Ulcerative Colitis. She Was

my aunt has been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. She was in hospital on mesavant but had lung surgery with talc to get the lung membrane to adhere to the chest wall due to fluid in the chest cavity. She was not allowed steroid or anti inflammatory for 2 weeks and has now been on Mesavant again for 4 days. She has stinking fecal chemical smell, the smell is also in her breathe. The first time on Mesavant she was pooping like crazy by day 4 (then it was stpped because of surgery). She is now at day 4 and pooping like crazy again. It is the weekend now and we do not know what happens after day 4 on this stuff. I thought it was supposed to stop bowel issues. DOes the pooping and smell mean a bad reaction to Mesavant and she needs to be on something else, or does if mean C. diff. Her lung surgery was at another hospital and on her return she was put into isolation and tested for C diff. Don't know if that was routine hospital transfer or a legit concern. Overnight she was in the bathroom every 20 min. She is sleeping presently (skipped the morning Mesavant (5-ASA) but plans to try again tonight with the evening Mesavant dose. The Internet says you can use Imodium with Mesavant. If she is running all night again should we try the Imodium?
