My Big Toe On Side Of Nail Was Very Painful

my big toe on side of nail was very painful and red last night, I soaked in warm water with Epsom salt and have applied polysporin a few times since last night. it's not as painful and still a bit red. should I go to doctor and get him to look and maybe get pills for it or just continue what im doing and maybe it will go away
