My Boyfriend Was Hauling Packaged Shingles Up For A Roof

my boyfriend was hauling packaged shingles up for a roof and then laying on the roof,later that evening he started breaking out on both his arms with a red rash that started swelling all the way up both arms,becoming bothersome to where he was scratching and now he is seeping a yellow discharge while it now is starting on his forehead and left cheek.can this be an allergy to it?
