My Daughter, Age 56, Has Been Diagnosed With A Hernia

my daughter, age 56, has been diagnosed with a hernia and a "ring" around the esophagus which needs to be removed via laser. If it doesn't work, she says she will have to have her esophogus removed. She also suffers from constant bronchial infections. I am very worried. Can you give me some insight or informative comments? YYYY@YYYY
