My Daughter Has Vitiligo. We Are Always On Alert As

my daughter has vitiligo. we are always on alert as far as skin issues go. She is 23 and hasn't had any new spots in about 5 years. She is saying that her scalp has been very sensitive for about 2 weeks now. it's not dry but feels uncomfortable like it might if you comb your hair in the wrong direction. what might the reason for this be?
