my father has short gut due to a bowel resection. he also suffers from hepatic encephalopathy and must take 90 ml of lactulose every day. lately rather than bouts of diarrhea with the occasional accident he never makes it to the washroom at all - diarrhea or solid stools.

I understand he has to take lactulose but is there anything that can be done to help with the incontinence.
