My Father-in-law (83 Years Old) Fell On Last Friday Night.

my father-in-law (83 years old) fell on last Friday night. Says he fell on his tail bone and now his leg is swollen from the knee down and his entire foot. Very red and hot, tight. Went to a chiropractor today (who he has never gone to) and he said they took x-rays but has to go tomorrow and then again on Monday and must take my mother-in-law with him and mentioned it could be a cracked vertebrae. I want to take him to the ER or Urgent Care but he says he's going to go this route 1st. Because of his age I am very concerned.
