My Father Is An Alcoholic That Fell Two Weeks Ago

my father is an alcoholic that fell two weeks ago and it created subdermal hemotoma- no surgery was needed but they say because the nerves were already damaged due to toxicity (my father was smart as a whil till the fall--no cognitive deterioration evident) and because his improvement has been flat....that he feels it is permanent damage. Can he heal?
