my fatherinlaw has afib and was told recent lab tests, done with other tests for sx of sob, showed concern for pe. ruled out by ct but found has scarring on lungs on cxr. im a nurse but not sure what labwork done alone would indicate concern for pe or causes for scarring other than pneumonia and repeated respiratory infections. no other environmental factors or smoking history im aware of.
