My Friend Has Turned Yellow, He Has Had A Scan

my friend has turned yellow, he has had a scan and been told he will be referred to a liver unit, he is awaiting another ct scan, but tonight his abdomen and feet have swollen up considerably to the extent of being very uncomfortable, should we worry tonight?
