My Friends Grandson Is 2. He Was Having Trouble Walking

my friends grandson is 2. he was having trouble walking and urinating and collapsed at daycare. ER visit had him admitted. After a week and no answers, they released him. next morning woke up screaming with stomach pain and his abdomen was distended. They are saying it is some kind of infection in his tail bone, but not meningitis. any ideas?
