My Husband Feels A Filmy Or Hazy Or Like Plastic

my husband feels a filmy or hazy or like plastic over his right eye - we went to the emergency room and they said his eye looks ok to them not a stroke or anything major but we need an eye doctor to dilate to see what may be going on - what might this be and i am scared for my husband. what should we expect - thank you
