My Husband Has A Sebaceous Cyst That Broke A Year

my husband has a sebaceous cyst that broke a year ago, on his back, and still has not healed up properly. It continues to weep and drain out stuff, it scabs up, then breaks again. How can we get this healed up and gone?... it's been over a year like this. His doctor offers no help, says it will heal up, but it isn't.
