My Husband Has Been On Metphormin For Years Now For

my husband has been on metphormin for years now for type 2 diabetes. He is eating better, exercising, but I believe his dose is to high for his weight and improvements on his health. After he goes to bed he usually wakes up shaky and has to eat more. He usually eats apples/ect about midnight. What are the dangers of metphormin with to high of dosage?
