My Husband Has Not Been Able To Eat And All

my husband has not been able to eat and all food and drinking very little, all food makes him nauseated resulting in him vomiting. He has been moaning, and yelling for the past 3 days however, he denies pain, admits to some discomfort in his stomach, and lower esophagus area. He describes it as a "nervous feeling" with non stop sensations of wanting to vomit. He has these flare lasting for several days resulting in him finally going to the hospital where he is always hospitalized for at least 3 days. These flare up and symptoms have been occurring for years. He has had extensive xrays, and exams all came back normal. The only thing he was diagnosis was a Hiatal hernia, will a hiatal hernia cause none stop nausea with on going vomiting after eating lasting for several days.
