My Husband Is Taking Albuterol Sulfate As He Has Bronchitis

my husband is taking albuterol sulfate as he has bronchitis and the hospital also gave him guaiatussin ac 100-10mg/5ml syp to take he has had a few episodes were he blacks out from coughing and he did not do this until he started taking both these drugs is this normal?
