My Husband Was Cleaning The Dogs Ears, Which Turned Out

my husband was cleaning the dogs ears, which turned out to be infected with pseudomonas and yeast. The dog shook his head and some of the ear fluids got into my husbands mouth. Later that day he got sores in his mouth and 2 days later a terrible sore throat and feels feverish. Could he have gotten sick from the dog? And could he get a psuedomonas throat infection? he is immunocompromised from chronic lyme and mold toxicity.
